Played 17 October 2026 on Hacksaw Gaming's official free demo in EUR at €0.20. 100 base spins (€20 staked) returned €11.70, finishing €8.30 down, with no natural bonus. The biggest base win was €5.74 (28.7x) on spin 76, with another €3.46 on spin 90. Three earlier base runs were discarded because their spin count couldn't be proven, and the demo was reloaded each time. BonusHunt FeatureSpins and Mighty FeatureSpins are bet modes, not buys, and weren't used. We bought the three cheapest bonuses: What If Zeus Was One Of Us? (100x), Take The Wheel (250x) and Might Superstar (2,000x). Buys: €470.00 in, €503.86 back (+€33.86). Session total +€25.56. A short sample, not a long-term test, and the buy profit comes from a single round.

How the session went
The splash screen introduces three ideas: Glorious Coins, the Vessel of Wealth, and three bonus games. I set the bet to €0.20 and played 100 base spins in autoplay rounds of 10, checking each spin against a screen recording. Three earlier attempts were thrown out because I couldn't prove the spin count, so the demo was reloaded and the fourth run is the one reported here.
The base game was hard work. 100 spins at €0.20 (€20 staked) returned €11.70, €8.30 down, with no bonus. It felt flat for long stretches, then briefly lively near the end. The best hit was €5.74 (28.7x) on spin 76, when a Hand of Zeus turned the highlighted squares into coins, and spin 90 added €3.46.
That's how the game works at its core. Every winning cluster leaves its squares highlighted as Divine Squares. If a Hand of Zeus symbol is on the grid, those squares reveal bronze, silver or gold coins, each worth a multiple of the bet. A Zap of Zeus multiplies nearby coins and Vessels by up to x10, and a Vessel of Wealth collects every coin on the grid into one stored value.
The buy menu at €0.20 has five options, and only three are buys. BonusHunt FeatureSpins (€0.60 a spin) and Mighty FeatureSpins (€10 a spin) are bet modes that make bonuses more likely, so I didn't count them. The buys are What If Zeus Was One Of Us? for €20 (100x), Take The Wheel for €50 (250x) and Might Superstar for €400 (2,000x). I bought all three, cheapest first.
What If Zeus Was One Of Us? gives 8 free spins where Divine Squares stay lit until they're activated. Mine retriggered to 10 spins but never connected: €1.60 with four spins left, and €1.66 at the end, 0.08x the price.
Take The Wheel gives 12 free spins where Divine Squares stay lit even after they're activated. It was quiet until a Mega Win late in the round, and it finished at €17.06, 0.34x.
Might Superstar is the premium bonus: 12 free spins, a guaranteed Hand of Zeus every spin, and only silver and gold coins. Midway it had a Vessel of Wealth and €74.08 banked with six spins left. The second half added much more, and it finished at €485.14, 1.21x its €400 price.
In total the buys cost €470.00 and paid €503.86, +€33.86. With the base game's −€8.30, the session finished €25.56 up. I wouldn't read much into that. The whole profit comes from one €400 round, and the two cheaper buys lost most of their cost. At maximum volatility, three rounds tell you almost nothing about long-term value.
How the features work

Base game. A 6×5 grid with cluster pays: five or more matching symbols touching each other pay.
Divine Squares and Hand of Zeus. After a win, the squares behind the winning symbols are highlighted. A Hand of Zeus symbol activates them and reveals bronze, silver or gold coins.
Zap of Zeus and Vessel of Wealth. Zap of Zeus multiplies coins and Vessels on adjacent squares by up to x10. A Vessel of Wealth collects the values of all coins and other Vessels on the grid.
Bonus games. Three FS symbols trigger What If Zeus Was One Of Us? (8 free spins, squares stay lit until activated). Four trigger Take The Wheel (12 free spins, squares stay lit after activation). Five trigger Might Superstar (12 free spins, a Hand of Zeus on every spin, silver and gold coins only).
Max win. 50,000x the bet.
RTP, bets and buys
The rules give 96.22% for the base game. The buy RTPs are 96.32% for What If, 96.44% for Take The Wheel and 96.27% for Might Superstar, with the FeatureSpins modes at 96.18% and 96.4%. Hacksaw also offers 94.16% and 92.35% versions, so check the info screen at your casino. The bet range in the game is €0.10 to €2,000. Volatility is 5 out of 5.
At €0.20 the buys cost €20, €50 and €400. Might Superstar is eight times the price of Take The Wheel for the same 12 spins, with a guaranteed Hand of Zeus and better coins. It's the bonus built for the big hits, and it's priced that way.
Why 7.8
The Slotsyn rating starts from the studio numbers, then takes the session into account. Epic Ze Zeus has a 50,000x cap, three bonus games that really differ, and a coin system that makes ordinary wins matter. RTP is fair at the top setting. What holds it back is how punishing it can be: 5/5 volatility, a base game that can go a long time without a bonus, a 2,000x top buy, and lower RTP versions in circulation.
Our session was lopsided. The base game lost, the two cheaper buys lost most of their cost, and one Might Superstar round put the buys in profit. That's three bonus rounds at maximum volatility, so we didn't let the €400 round raise the rating or the weak rounds lower it. The result is 7.8, unchanged: an inventive, extreme slot for players who know what 5/5 means.
Compared with other Hacksaw slots
Next to Le Vampire (15,000x) and Demonic Dolls (10,000x), Epic Ze Zeus has a far higher cap and a more involved coin system. Next to Tres Piñatas, it's in a different league for volatility. If you want Hacksaw at its most extreme, this is the one. I didn't assess the sound.
